I have always found the purchase of a traditional Middle Eastern rug to be a stressful experience as they are a huge investment. But they are so beautiful and coordinate with any decor.
I recently discovered a new resource that takes the stress out of this important purchase: The Kabul Carpet Export Center, founded with the mission to support Afghan Women rug artisans. They export traditional, hand made rugs to the U.S. and every sale supports an Afghan woman rug artisan and her family. You can learn about the organization and see the selections here: https://afghanrugs.us/about-kcec
